PwC Jamaica's Post-Easter treat at St. Michael’s Primary and Infant School includes donation to enhance the learning environment

Kingston, Jamaica, 24 April -  PwC Jamaica continued its commitment to community engagement by hosting a post-Easter treat for students, teachers, and staff of St. Michael’s Primary and Infant School in Downtown Kingston. The event, held on Friday, April 19, on the school grounds, included engaging activities for the students and  donation of groceries for the lunch programme. Additionally, PwC donated seven television sets to enhance the school’s learning initiatives, highlighting its dedication to supporting education and enrichment in the community.

Partners and staff jointly contributed JMD $1,000,000 towards the event, ensuring that the students enjoyed a memorable day of activities and treats. PwC volunteers were also present to assist with the treat, allowing the students to enjoy various rides and tasty treats, which was a delightful way to end the week.

Gail Moore, Partner and Corporate Responsibility Leader at PwC Jamaica, expressed the firm's commitment to supporting the community, especially its children. "We truly enjoy being of service to our community, especially our children. This treat allowed us to interact with the students of St. Michael’s in a fun and positive way while providing a well-deserved break for the staff and teachers. It was really heart-warming to see the students enjoying themselves and we believe that activities like these are important in promoting a healthy balance between learning and play. We hope that events such as these contribute to the social well-being of the students and their communities as they navigate their school years."

Mrs Juliet Campbell McPherson, Principal, thanked the PwC team on behalf of the teachers and students and noted that she appreciated PwC’s commitment to the school and by extension the community.

“At St. Michael’s, we value the overall wellness of our students. We try our best to have activities that engage the complete student but we also want to ensure our children enjoy play and have safe, childlike experiences for as long as they are students in our care. So we are delighted that one of our constant partners and friends, PwC, continues to host these activities and this year hosted a play-filled post-Easter treat for our students,” said Mrs Campbell McPherson.

Bruce Scott, Territory Leader at PwC Jamaica, emphasised the positive impact of the initiative on the school and the community. “PwC’s long standing support and collaboration with St. Michael’s Primary and Infant School underscore our deep-rooted commitment to education and community empowerment. By donating seven television units to enhance the learning environment, we aim to provide students with the tools they need to succeed and thrive," said Scott.

PwC Jamaica has a longstanding partnership with St. Michael's Primary School, having sponsored the school's Christmas treats since December 2003. The annual event has evolved into a staple, now hosted either before or after the Easter break.

Partners and staff jointly contributed JMD $1,000,000 towards the event, ensuring that the students enjoyed a memorable day of activities and treats.
