PwC Foundation - Overview
Message from our president
In recent years, the structure of our society has become increasingly complex and diverse. When it comes to disaster response, education, diversity and inclusion (D&I), and environmental issues, individual companies and organisations are limited in the actions they can take on their own. Under these circumstances, the private sector (private corporations), public sector (government agencies, municipalities etc.), and social sector (NPOs, NGOs etc.) must come together as one to mobilise various resources to solve social problems.
The PwC Foundation aims to accelerate the solution of various problems facing society, and to achieve a sustainable society from a long-term perspective. In particular, we at the PwC Foundation are committed to furthering our positive impact on society through joint efforts with other organisations, such as NPOs and start-up companies, who are working to solve social problems.

Our mission
PwC’s Purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems. Based on this Purpose, we are engaged in corporate responsibility (CR) activities with the goal of achieving a sustainable society, in addition to our business operations. Specifically, we proactively focus our CR activities on the three themes of sustainable and responsible business, providing support to communities and promoting environmental stewardship.
In Japan and throughout the world, however, a gap remains between economic growth and social development, and many challenges remain in terms of sustainable growth.
In response to this situation, the PwC Japan Group established the PwC Foundation with the goal of further impacting society by providing assistance to organisations that leverage innovative ideas to solve social problems.
To achieve a sustainable society, our Foundation accepts applications for support from organisations that work to solve problems related to:
- Education and upskilling
- Diversity and inclusion (D&I)
- The environment
Through these activities, and with a long-term perspective, the PwC Foundation aims to contribute to the achievement of a sustainable society.
