Hans Hashagen

Hans qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001 after completing his training contract with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1996. Since 2003, he specialised in the detection and investigation of fraud, litigation support as well as providing Risk Advisory Services to clients. He focussed his work on clients in the Financial Services Sector and through that has developed strong relationships with regulators and other key stakeholders in the Financial Services Sector in Namibia.

He has provided co-sourced/out-sourced Internal Audit services to leading State Owned Enterprises in Namibia, resulting in a thorough understanding of the regulatory and operational challenges those entities face; as well as provided co-sourced Internal Audit Services to mines in Namibia, with the ability to provide a broad perspective on mining industry issues.

Hans started his career with PwC 24 years ago and qualified as a CA with the firm before leaving for a stint in Commerce and Industry, where after he worked in the Advisory Services environment with specific focus on forensic and risk assurance services.

He has more than 15 years of experience in fraud investigations, forensic accounting and dispute services to multinational, national and public sector clients. During the last 8 years, Hans was leading various investigations across the African continent for multinational clients, with specific focus on corruption, bribery and procurement fraud. During the last 8 years, Hans was leading 9 high profile investigations relating to allegations of corruption and gross mismanagement in the Public Sector of Namibia.
