Introduction

We (“PwC”, “us”, or “our”) are strongly committed to protecting personal data.  This transparency notice describes why and how we collect and use your personal data and provides information about your rights. We may use your personal data provided to us for any of the purposes described in this privacy statement or as otherwise stated at the point of collection.
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable living person. 
When collecting and using your personal data, our policy is to be transparent about why and how we process them.

Security

We take the security of all the data we hold very seriously.  We adhere to internationally recognised security standards, and our information security management system relating to client confidential data is independently certified as complying with the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001: 2013.  We have a framework of policies, procedures and training in place covering data protection, confidentiality and security and regularly review the appropriateness of the measures we have in place to keep the data we hold secure.

Collection​ ​of​ ​personal​ data

We will collect your personal data as part of the registration process and while delivering a course. Your personal data may be provided to PwC directly by you or by your employer depending on the type of training provided by the PwC Academy.

In connection with the provision of PwC Academy services, we will only process the personal data that is strictly needed to deliver a required type of course, typically your identification and contact data, job-related data and information about your professional life.

You are asked not to provide us with any information regarding the “special category of personal data”, namely personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, politics, religion or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetics, biometrics (where used for ID purposes), health, sex life or sexual orientation.

Use​ ​of​ ​personal​ data

Your personal data may be used for the following purposes:

• To communicate with you during the registration process and course delivery;
• Organising the training (registration, preparing materials, training sessions, etc.);
• Verifying qualification for the training and issuing certificates;
• Developing our services, providing information to you about us and our similar services you might be interested in;
• Preparing training service offers in accordance with the clients' needs;
• Performing analytics such as on market trend, relationships maps or sales opportunities;
• Maintaining and using our internal IT systems.

Legal basis for processing

• Contract performance - the processing of your personal data takes place in order to negotiate and perform a contract to which you are a party.
• Legitimate interest - we might process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate business interests consisting of direct marketing of our services or providing you with information which we believe might be of interest to you.
• Consent - we can also process your data based on the freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of your wish expressed in your consent, under conditions specified in it.

Data retention

Your personal data will be retained on the PwC Academy Learning Platform as well as in the local PwC Academy database.

In case you give us your consent to process your personal data, that data will be retained under the conditions specified in your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Consent withdrawal section below).

We might process your contact email for the purpose of direct marketing communication. You can unsubscribe from our future communication by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the relevant email received from us.

To the remaining extent, your personal data will be retained for as long as we need it for a purpose for which we are permitted to use it, or as long as you or us may pursue legal claims concerning each other, in general not longer than for a period of 4 years after the course finalisation.

When and how we share personal data, processing locations

We will only share your personal data with others when we are legally permitted to do so. In such case, we put contractual arrangements and security mechanisms in place to protect your data and to comply with our own data protection, confidentiality and security standards.

We are part of a global network of firms and, in common with other professional service providers, we use third parties located in other countries to help us run our business.  As a result, your personal data may be transferred outside the countries where we are located.

In respect of personal data being regulated by EU legislation, please note that cross border transfers may include countries outside the European Economic Area ("EEA") and to countries that do not have laws that provide specific protection for personal data. We have taken steps to ensure that all transferred personal data is provided with adequate protection and that all transfers of personal data outside the EEA are done lawfully.  Where we transfer personal data outside of the EEA to a country not determined by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data, the transfers will be under an agreement which covers the EU requirements for the transfer of personal data outside the EEA, such as the European Commission-approved standard contractual clauses.

Your personal data held by us may be transferred to:

• Other PwC member firms. For details of our member firm locations, please visit https://www.pwc.com/gx/en/about/office-locations.html#/. We may share your personal data with other PwC member firms where necessary for administrative purposes and to provide professional services to you (e.g. when providing services involving advice from PwC member firms in different territories).  We use third parties to support us in providing our services and to help provide, run and manage our internal IT systems.  For example, providers of information technology, cloud-based software, identity management, website hosting and management, data analysis, data back-up, security and storage services. The servers powering and ensuring cloud infrastructure are located in secure data centres around the world, and your personal data may be stored in any one of them.
• Third parties (e.g. lecturers) that otherwise assist us in providing, services or information.
• Auditors and other professional advisers.
• Law enforcement or other government and regulatory agencies or to other third parties as required by, and in accordance with, applicable law or regulation.
• Occasionally, we may receive requests from third parties with authority to obtain disclosure of the personal data we process, such as to check that we are complying with applicable laws and regulations; to investigate an alleged crime; to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We will only fulfil requests for personal data sharing where we are required to do so in accordance with applicable law or regulation.

Your rights and how to exercise them

You have certain rights over your personal data and we as a data controller are responsible for fulfilling these rights.  Where we decide how and why personal data is processed, we act as a data controller. Below, please find further information about your rights and how to exercise them.

Access to personal data

You have a right of access to personal data held by us as a data controller. This right may be exercised by emailing us at cz_dpo@pwc.com.

Amendment of personal data

To update your personal data submitted to us, you may email us at cz_dpo@pwc.com or, where appropriate, contact us via the relevant website registration page or by amending the personal details held on relevant applications with which you registered.

When possible in terms of practicality, once we are informed that any personal data processed by us is no longer accurate, we will make corrections based on your updated information.

Withdrawal of consent

In case we process personal data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. We do not generally process personal data based on consent (as we can usually rely on another legal basis). To withdraw consent to our processing of your personal data, please email us at cz_privacy@pwc.com or, to stop receiving an email from a PwC marketing list, please click on the unsubscribe link in the relevant email received from us.

Right to restrict or object to our processing of personal data

You have the right, on reasonable grounds relating to your particular situation, to restrict or object to the processing of your personal information at any time, unless the processing is required by law.

In such case, we will no longer process or restrict the processing of the personal data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Other data subject rights

This privacy statement is intended to provide information about what personal data we collect about you and how it is used.  As well as rights of access, amendment and restriction or objection to processing referred to above, you may have other rights in relation to the personal data we hold, such as a right to erasure/deletion and the right to data portability.

Complaints

We hope that you won’t ever need to, but if you do want to complain about our use of personal data, please send an email with the details of your complaint to cz_dpo@pwc.com.  We will look into and respond to any complaints we receive.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Czech Republic.  For further information on your rights and how to complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Czech Republic, please refer to the www.uoou.cz/en.

Automated decision making

Your personal data will not be used for automated decision-making, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

Processing of your accurate data

It is important that the personal data we process about you is up to date. Please keep us informed if your personal information changes.
