PwC Legal’s pan-Baltic team of lawyers helped Forum Cinemas with cross-border merger

Forum Cinemas, a theatre operator owned by Finnish group Finnkino, has completed a cross-border merger that saw their Latvian and Lithuanian companies being merged into Estonian company Forum Cinemas OU.

Forum Cinemas will carry on their Baltic operations as a single entity with its head office in Estonia and branches in Latvia and Lithuania. The merger followed advice given by PwC Legal’s pan-Baltic team of lawyers.

Janis Gavars, a co-manager of PwC Legal’s M&A practice in Latvia said:

“Finalising the Forum Cinemas cross-border merger means we have successfully completed an assignment that took us more than 12 months to plan and execute. Our portfolio now boasts another very interesting and challenging project after PwC Legal’s Baltic offices worked closely together to achieve all of our goals in good time and quality.”

Forum Cinemas runs three theatres in Estonia, one in Latvia, and five in Lithuania. Last year the Baltic theatres had a total audience of close to five million, their revenues exceeded 38.5 million euros and headcount reached 300.
