Message from our Human Capital Partner

Our people were at the very heart of what we did and what we achieved over the past Months.

This year, we made an unprecedented investment in our people. We focussed on recruiting specific expertise in all areas of our business as well as on retention, care and wellbeing initiatives for them.

During the pandemic, we definitely saw the value of technology but the extent of our people’s return to the office and to client premises, has shown that nothing can replace the true value of in-person relationship building. Our people sent us a message and we listened to them. Hybrid working has now become a new reality, embedded in our work practices.

With 30% of our workforce coming from 35 nationalities and more than 57% of our people being women, our Diversity & Inclusion team has set these two elements amongst its key priorities for the year. The activities launched around these topics allowed us to better embrace these new realities and the benefits of such a rich and diverse workforce.

We offered a wide range of upskilling opportunities – be it technical, digital and leadership skills. Training was delivered using a blended approach which encompasses various learning platforms, tools and delivery modes.

In FY22, through our global mobility programme, we had 7 of our people physically seconded to PwC Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Luxembourg while 23 of our people worked on international projects with PwC Australia, Belgium, Denmark and the US amongst others. We will continue to strengthen our network relationships for our people to grow and develop through such international experiences.

Our student team and our people were in the meantime focused on connecting with students on a personal level, designing and enabling an array of relevant experiences, which again, in a post-pandemic world were much needed. We engaged on an ongoing basis with University, MCAST, sixth forms and secondary schools and with student organisations such as KSU, KSJC, S-Cubed, ASCS and KSM. Our teams were indeed a community of solvers within our student community.

As a large organisation, we recognise that, in addition to all of this, we also have a responsibility towards our society. We asked our people which organisations they wanted us to support and we took action based on their suggestions. Our ‘Giving Back’ initiatives have been proof that the values of ‘care and empathy’ that the firm treasures are mirrored in the actions and behaviours of our people.
