Following the enactment of Act No. LX of 2021 on 26 October 2021, the Malta Business Registry has issued a notice for companies requesting them to provide an adequate email address that is accessible to all the company's officials by 30 September 2022. This email address will be used for all official electronic correspondence and notifications to be sent by the Registrar to the company, alongside the physical registered office address.

Each company can provide up to 4 different email addresses as long as those provided are valid and accessed by the company’s officers on a regular basis.
The above-mentioned requirement is also applicable to Partnerships and Oversea Companies registered with the Registry. Companies that fall under the Merchant Shipping Act are not legally bound by such a requirement, however, an email address may still be provided on a voluntary basis.
