27 September 2023 - PwC Legal (Mauritius) Ltd has announced the nomination of Me Ashveen Gopee as its new Partner and Managing Director, effective from 04 September 2023.
With nearly 17 years standing at the bar, Ashveen Gopee now takes the reins of PwC Legal (Mauritius) Ltd (‘PwC Legal’). Prior to heading PwC Legal, Ashveen Gopee was the founder and managing partner of Lex Frontier Law Firm and had previously spent some time as Associate Director at PwC Legal.
Me. Gopee has proven experience in commercial and tax litigation, corporate and transactional, mergers and acquisitions, financial services and capital markets.
He has also an engineering background and owing to this, he is very active in the emerging field of fintech and cybersecurity. He is a regular intervener in the space of Virtual Assets and Blockchain technology, both at the national and international level, and has published on this topic in the Journal of International Banking Law and Regulation.
As a thought leader in the fintech sector, Me. Gopee contributes both in the private and public sector in this sphere.

Me. Gopee was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in 2005 and joined the Mauritian Bar the following year. He also holds a B.Sc. in electro-mechanical engineering from the University of Cape-Town.
