Developing a National Green IT Policy, Strategy and Action Plan

Situation

Greening the public sector information technology landscape

The global Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry accounted for approximately 2 percent of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, a figure equivalent to aviation at the time.

The client, a government agency, responsible for the development of ICT at national level,  was looking to implement a National Green ICT Policy and strategy to reduce the environmental impact of ICT equipment usage by the Government.
