Premium Travel Visa introduced in Mauritius

The Premium Travel Visa has just been launched in Mauritius and the e-visa platform to submit applications will be available shortly. COVID-19 has forced many of us to stay confined in our homes and to live in stressful environments. Mauritius is COVID free since 26 April 2020 and has no local active cases.

If you dream of enjoying an exotic environment which is safe or work remotely while gazing at the sea and listening to the waves, the Premium Travel Visa is the opportunity to seize.

What is the Premium Travel Visa?

The Premium Travel Visa is applicable for a long stay: a visa valid for up to one year and is renewable.

 

coviddPREMIUM VISAWho can apply for a Premium Travel Visa?How does a person qualify for the Premium Travel Visa?What criteria should be met?Covid clearanceA person has to show proof of:His/ her long stay planSufficient travel and health insurance Sufficient funds to cover for the cost of the stayA touristA retireeA professional accompanied by his family willing to carry out business or work remotely from MauritiusREGISTRATIONThe applicant should not enter the local labour market;The main place of business and source of income and profits should be outside Mauritius;Documentary evidence such as purpose of visit, accommodation etc; andOther basic immigration requirements such as:Hold a valid Passport or any other recognized travel document, with expiry date beyond the intended period of stay;Hold a valid return/onward passage tickets to his/her country of origin or residence;Have sufficient funds to meet the costs of stay in Mauritius; andBe eligible to re-enter his/her country of origin or residence.A PCR Test must be done 5-7 days before the departureA PCR test will be done on day 7 and 14 at the hotelThe original PCR is required when travellingA PCR test will be done upon arrival in Mauritius at the AirportA quarantine stay package must be booked with an accommodation which has been pre-approved by the Mauritian authoritiesA quarantine of 14 days much be completed in the hotel room
