About the Acquisition International Tax Awards
The Acquisition International Tax Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies within the tax industry, and crucially, are nominated by their clients, their professional colleagues and their peers. AI’s Tax Awards identify and honour success, innovation and ethics across international communities. This year’s awards recognise over 450 winners in more than 60 countries.
Sponsor of the awards, Brewer Morris’ partner, Mr Mark Pryor said: “I’m glad to say, 2013 proved to be a much improved year for tax and treasury recruitment, with the start to 2014 continuing this trend. Further indicators of an improving business environment are increasing, with companies ensuring they are compliant and reducing their reliance on advisers.”
The results are based entirely on the votes and testimonials of in-house counsel and corporate decision-makers surveyed as part of the 7th annual Asian-MENA Counsel – In-House Community ‘Representing Corporate Asia & Middle East’ Survey. More than 20,000 pre-qualified in-house counsel and buyers of legal services were invited to participate in this survey. Participants were asked, among other things, for their comments on the quality and value of service they received from external counsel in their jurisdiction, and where applicable, in other jurisdictions, and which firms they ‘prefer to use’ for various activities. The results don’t indicate which law firms have been the most active in any given area, but rather those private practice teams whose service has been of meritable quality and who have been responsive to their clients’ needs beyond the norm.
About Asian-MENA Counsel magazine
The only monthly magazine that specifically addresses the concerns of in-house lawyers across the region, Asian-MENA Counsel provides thought-provoking analysis and discussion of vital legal, regulatory and business issues, together with news and profiles of leading in-house practitioners.
The ACQ Global Awards set out to recognise the achievements of those who are responding most successfully to the demands being placed on them in the new post-recession business environment. The awards are the only industry honours given purely on the basis of voter participation, and as always, they have welcomed and considered any and all submissions to their nomination process. "The marketplace is changing quickly, with greater external pressure and competition, so it's good to see that all ACQ Global Awards 2013 winners are showing no signs of complacency. Far from it, this year's nominations show that the market continues to spearhead solutions that allow it to stay at the top of the game.
Voting closed in February 2013. The total number of nominations received stood at an amazing 8762 representing a 15.2% response rate. In judging these awards we have studied the nominations made by our voters and recognise that all of those nominated are leaders in their fields but the exceptional performances of some deserve recognition.
On behalf of ACQ, I personally would like to thank our sponsors for contributing to the success of these awards and encourage all in the marketplace, whether its businesses large or small, individuals in niche sectors or the genuine icons of the “game” to continue to pioneer and nurture new talent." said Jake Robson, Editor in Chief of ACQ magazine.
