Soo Hoo Khoon Yean has been appointed by the Mekong Partners as the interim Chief Executive Officer of PwC Thailand and Mekong Territory Senior Partner with immediate effect. Soo Hoo is currently serving as PwC Malaysia’s Managing Partner and the Territory Senior Partner of the PwC Malaysia-Vietnam (MYVN) firm, in addition to being the Chairman of PwC’s South East Asia Consulting practice.

The leadership change follows Chanchai Chaiprasit’s decision to step down from his role as Mekong Territory Senior Partner and CEO of PwC Thailand for personal reasons.

The Mekong Partners is confident that Soo Hoo possesses the knowledge and capabilities to effectively serve as the Interim CEO of PwC Thailand and Mekong Territory Senior Partner. He will oversee the firm’s operations until a new CEO is selected.

Soo Hoo has over 31 years of experience in providing audit and advisory services to clients in the financial services industry across Malaysia and the region. We are confident that Soo Hoo will lead PwC Thailand and PwC Mekong to achieve its purpose, which is to solve important problems, explore new business models and new opportunities. This will help support clients to build trust with stakeholders, and deliver greater sustained outcomes.
