Maija Orbidāne

Head of ESG practice

Maija Orbidane is head of the ESG practice at PwC Latvia. As a leading Latvian expert on sustainability and responsible business, she has taken part in developing the Latvian Code of Corporate Governance, based on principles combining the international best practice in corporate governance. Before joining PwC, Maija was head of Issuer Services and Surveillance at Nasdaq Riga. She has 14 years’ experience in the surveillance of listed companies and vast experience in building relationships with investors in listed companies, including the application of principles of good corporate governance in listed companies’ operations.

Drawing on her professional knowledge and vast work experience, Maija Orbidane continues working on the Advisory Council of Corporate Governance set up under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice to promote good corporate governance in Latvian companies. Maija holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Latvia.
