Soo Hoo Khoon Yean

Soo Hoo Khoon Yean is the Managing Partner at PwC Malaysia and the Territory Senior Partner of the PwC Malaysia-Vietnam (MYVN) firm, in addition to being the Chairman of PwC’s South East Asia Consulting practice.

With over 31 years of experience in providing audit and advisory services to clients in the financial services industry across Malaysia and the region, he previously served as the Assurance Leader of the MYVN firm. In this role, he also led the Financial Services practice and Risk Assurance group. Throughout his career, he has advised major public institutions and government agencies on projects such as mergers and acquisitions, internal investigations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) implementation.

Soo Hoo holds a degree in accounting from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. A recognised professional, he is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds leadership positions in various accounting and business associations. He is currently the President of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and a Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Previously, he served on the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Council. In addition, he remains the Chairperson of the MIA’s Practice Review Committee and a Board Member of the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce.

At the end of a work day, Soo Hoo enjoys working out, playing computer games and reading books and magazines before bed.
