Dato' Mohammad Faiz Azmi

Dato’ Faiz is very active in the profession and the accounting world. Amongst other roles, he is the past President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), UK Council Member and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), past Chairman of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) and is the Chair of the Islamic Finance Consultative Group of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). He is also the chairman of MyPAC, an education related body, President of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC) and a member of the Labuan International Business Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC) International Advisory Panel.  

Dato’ Faiz was educated in Malaysia and the UK and read law at the University of Durham before being called to the English Bar. He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Nottingham.   

When he’s not busy at work, Dato’ Faiz enjoys fiddling around with his cameras and working on his photography skills around the world. He is also a self-confessed geek and enjoys flying drones and testing out the latest gadgets. Dato’ Faiz is an avid history buff.

Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Datuk Zaiton is a Fellow and Council Member of ACCA, United Kingdom, member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. 

She started her career in PriceWaterhouse after which she joined Bank Pembangunan as a Project Officer. She then joined Maybank where she spent 12 years in various senior positions. She left Maybank to set up Malaysian Rating Corporation Bhd (MARC) in 1996 and was its President/Executive Director until 2004. She then set up her own financial advisory firm Capital Intelligence Advisors Sdn Bhd. She established the Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC) in 2015 and is currently its Chief Executive Officer. 

Datuk Zaiton has extensive experience as an Independent Director, holding positions as Chairman of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and Chairman of the Board Governance & Audit Committees of Tabung Haji and Sime Darby Plantation Berhad.

Loh Wei Yuen

Head
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Malaysia

Wei Yuen is the Head of ICAEW Malaysia. She leads the Malaysia-based team and is responsible for the growing ICAEW membership and presence in Malaysia. She has built relationships at the appropriate level with members, local partners, Government, higher education institutions and employers.

She actively collaborates with a range of employers; large and small practice firms, corporates and financial institutions to promote the profession. Since joining ICAEW in 2008, she has increased the local membership base by 75%, structured bespoke programmes with higher learning institutions and instrumental to the growth of a vibrant student community.  

Wei Yuen graduated from University College London in Biochemical Engineering in 1987 and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1991.

She trained as an auditor in the UK and when she returned to Malaysia in 1993, she worked as a management consultant in one of the Big 4 where her work includes corporatisation and privatisation advisory, mergers and acquisitions and financial feasibility studies.

Prior to her role in ICAEW, she has over 10 years of experience in the education industry having held the position of Director, Corporate Affairs with a private higher institution.
