PwC advised PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (“PDB”) on the divestment of its Sarawak liquefied petroleum gas (“LPG”) marketing and distribution business to PETROSNiaga Sdn. Bhd. (“PNIAGA”)
PDB is the principal marketing arm of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and a leading retailer and marketer of downstream oil and gas products in Malaysia.
PNIAGA is a wholly-owned company of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) and is involved in the business of supplying industrial bulk, commercial, and residential LPG.
PETROS is a wholly-owned company of the State Government of Sarawak formed with a view to harness and utilise oil and gas natural resources in Sarawak.
The transaction cements the long-term strategic partnership between PDB and PETROS in developing the LPG business in Sarawak.
The Corporate Finance team was leading the transaction working closely with Delivering Deal Value and Valuation teams of PwC Malaysia throughout the project. The PwC Malaysia Corporate Finance team acted as the exclusive financial advisor to PDB in connection with the transaction. The definitive agreements were signed in March 2022.
