Import of goods, which are important for the heating season, is exempt from import duty and VAT

On 8 November 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution that provides for the exemption from VAT and import duty for import operations and further supply of goods which are important for the heating season completion, as noted by the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his speech at the Government session. According to the draft resolution published text, it is referred primarily about the import and supply of gas generators, electric motors and generators, electric generating sets and some other goods for the energy industry and heating supply according to the UKT ZED codes 7308, 7605, 8405, 8421, 8501, 8502, 8504, 8507, 8511, 8516 10 80 00, 8536, 8537, 8544, 8546. According to Denys Shmygal, these measures are aimed at speeding up repairs, improving the light and heat supply, satisfying the demand of the population, as well as price reduction of the corresponding products. 

In addition, on 7 November 2022 the draft laws on exemption from VAT and customs duties on the import and supply of a similar type of goods have been registered with Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada).
