Dato' Gani has served in the Royal Malaysian Customs Department for the last 36 years in various key positions across offices in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Kedah and Labuan.
He was heavily involved in customs, public relations and preventive divisions work. His last posting was as Kuala Lumper State Director of Customs, on Superscale Special Grade JUSA B.
Dato' Gani holds a Bachelor of Letters degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
He is also accredited as a Technical and Operational Advisor by World Customs Organisation (WCO) and recipient of a WCO certificate of merit for rendering exceptional service to the International Customs Community
