Tay Lek is a Partner with the financial services tax practice of PwC Singapore with over 14 years of tax experience.
In his career, Tay Lek has been involved in a number of complex tax consulting projects including negotiating for tax incentive packages, tax due diligence reviews and advising on complex financial transactions such as securitisation transactions, leasing, derivatives transactions and debt securities offerings. Tay Lek also advises clients from the non-financial services sector. His experience and knowledge of cross industries tax issues enables him to bring innovative solutions to clients.
Tay Lek also had the opportunity to work in PricewaterhouseCoopers New York where he was involved in global tax structuring projects for alternative investment funds.
Prior to joining PwC, Tay Lek spent time in an in-house tax role for a US MNC where he learnt the intricacies of turning tax advices into solutions that worked. He was responsible for implementation of the group’s tax strategies in the Asia Pacific region with the overall goal of minimising tax costs, optimising cash flows, anticipating adverse issues and mitigating their potential impact.
He also writes regularly and contributes to both external publications and PwC’s internal publications such as the BCM Tax journal.
