Digital Identity

We view “digital identity” as a discipline that enables the right individuals to access to the right resources at the right times, in the right way for the right reasons and being able to report on that access. It comprises solutions involving people, process as well as technology and enables the next step in business transformation.

IAM Framework

Identity and access management (IAM) is the security discipline that enables the right individuals to access to the right resources at the right time, in the right way for the right reasons and being able to report on that access.

The need to ensure appropriate access to resources across increasingly complex technology environments is paramount to ensuring a secure environment, in addition to meeting increasingly rigorous compliance requirements.

The need to empower end-users with control over their data in an intuitive and secure way, while protecting their privacy is one of the core challenges in the coming years.

No matter which stage of the IAM journey your organisation is at, PwC is here to help you.

IAM Framework

We aim at building trust in digital future solving important problems while making sure that we are looking at this from a broader perspective rather than just creating locks

Workforce identity

Workforce identity is the digital identity of employees, and other internal users such as partners and contractors. It focuses primarily on internal user compliance and organisational efficiency.

Privileged identity

Privileged identity is the digital identity authorised for elevated or privileged access, via possession of one or more privileged accounts. It focuses on the special requirements of powerful accounts in an enterprise’s IT infrastructure.

Benefits

  • Assure confidence in business practices
  • Protect against insider threats
  • Increase compliance
  • Increase security
  • Protect assets
  • Reduce IT costs

PwC helps organisations secure the access of privileged identities by providing centralised credentials and session management capability across critical and non-critical assets of the organisation.

Consumer identity

Consumer identity is the digital identity of external consumers or, customers required for their self-service, and streamlined access to organisational resources. It is geared towards the customer facing assets and aims to unlock synergies across business divisions to enhance the customer experience and increase the sales of products and services.

Benefits

  • Personalised user experience
  • Enhanced security and privacy
  • Instant and frictionless access to applications
  • Scalability and uptime
  • Unified view of customer identity

PwC helps organisations extend to its users (consumers) significantly more control over their own identity. We follow the user-first approach that gives customers the authority to make changes to their security, privacy and personalising their settings as intended.

Zero trust

Zero trust is a security approach that secures an organisation by eliminating implicit trust and continuously validating every stage of a digital interaction by digital identities. Give users limited access to assets, and only to the asset relevant to their own work. The employee also has to re-verify every time they want access. This helps solve a major challenge in traditional security architecture – namely that attackers can move freely in the environment if they are first able to hack a single account or compromise a single system.

Benefits

  • Minimise uncertainty
  • Reduced attack surface
  • Streamlined data access
  • Optimise security operations

PwC helps organisations adopt zero trust approach by assessing and implementing controls for the identity-based organisational perimeter. It provides organisations with a least privilege model.

Identity governance

Identity governance is the policy-based centralised orchestration of identity and access management processes. It gives a centralised view and control over who has access to what and when. It involves providing consistent mechanisms and business rules for people (e.g. employees, partners, vendors) accessing assets (e.g. applications, networks, computers, databases). Governance needs to answer who, has access to what and when.

Benefits

  • Improve compliance
  • Strengthen security
  • Reduce operational cost
  • Efficient access to business

PwC help clients assess as well as build integrated and secure processes, and services to enable centralised identity governance controls over access to organisational systems and assets. PwC's approach takes into account organisation specific business requirements, contemporary industry trends and provides a holistic view to manage and maintain identities.
