Climate Tech Insights are part of our Ventures Perspectives series where we speak to entrepreneurs and senior leadership from the flourishing Middle East tech ecosystem as well as industry experts about startup valuations, growth strategy and climate tech innovations.
In this episode, we sit with Nawel Mahmoudi, co-founder of ValueGrid, and discuss her journey within climate management and how using AI helps connect organisations and climate initiatives to build stronger collaboration opportunities within sustainability.
Nawel explains that ValueGrid was conceptualised to help understand the impact of sustainable actions taken by climate focused organisations. By connecting different sources of information, ValueGrid’s solution ‘Act Insight’ works to help communities better understand the impact of their sustainability actions. This collective perspective is designed to allow organisations to see where the gaps lie in their efforts, enabling potential collaborative opportunities to create meaningful sustainable efforts amongst organisations within the ecosystem.
As a female co-founder, Nawel discusses her personal journey into the world of entrepreneurship and how she came into the climate and sustainability space within the Middle East. She shares her advice for other female startup founders, specifically in the region and the importance of surrounding yourself with a strong female group of entrepreneurs to encourage them on their journey. Nawel further discusses the advantages of growing her business in the Middle East. She points out how the Middle East is one of the fastest growing regions today, making it a great place to build her company and how the UAE, specifically, has been encouraging startups to grow by creating valuable opportunities that support different startups and businesses to grow in the region.
