Garry is a partner in the Tax Services practice, specializing in corporate taxation services for the resource industry including mining and forestry companies. Garry also focuses on international taxation. He is known for his expertise in advising mining clients on flow-through share financings, exploration tax credits and provincial mining taxes.
Garry has extensive experience advising public mining and forestry companies on their Canadian and international operations. He has coauthored a paper on federal and provincial mining exploration tax credits in Canada for the Federated Press’ Resource Sector Taxation Journal in 2003 and is a frequent public speaker. Garry has made presentations for the British Columbia Institute of Chartered Accountants, the British Columbia and Yukon Chamber of Mines, the Tax Executives Institute, the Conference Board of Canada and the Insight Information Co.
Earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting) from the University of British Columbia in 1991, Garry joined the firm the same year. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (1994).
