Geoff Leverton is a partner in the Assurance practice of PwC Canada, working in the Toronto office. He leads the Canadian Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory Services practice (CMAAS).
Geoff has more than 12 years’ international experience assisting companies with their capital-raising activities and financial reporting obligations, including IFRS, US GAAP and SEC reporting. His experience on complex accounting and regulatory issues includes purchase accounting, carve out accounting, revenue recognition, restructuring and impairment accounting, income taxes and stock-based compensation.
As a member of the CMAAS team, Geoff has worked in London, serving UK and European-based clients engaged in cross-border transactions requiring IFRS or US GAAP conversion. He also spent 3.5 years in Tokyo, working with some of Japan’s largest companies on cross-border transactions, external financial reporting and GAAP conversions.
Prior to joining CMAAS, Geoff spent six years in Canada with PwC’s Assurance practice and is a Canadian CA. He has been a keynote speaker at events both in Canada and overseas, sharing his insights on international convergence in financial reporting and has co-authored several publications on IFRS in Canada. Geoff received a BA (Economics) from the University of British Columbia.
