James Strapp is a Partner in PwC’s Power and Utilities Consulting Practice, based in Toronto. He brings over 30 years of experience consulting to the industry around the world, with particular focus on the planning and implementation of new technology.

James leads PwC’s Ontario Power and Utilities practice, focusing on the planning and execution of technology transformation programs across electricity generation, grid operations, distribution and retailing. Over the last two decades, he has held lead roles in the province's energy transformation, including the introduction of wholesale and retail competition, the implementation of smart meters, leading-edge smart grid initiatives, and more recently some of the province’s most innovative applications of artificial intelligence.

Prior to rejoining PwC in January 2018, James was the Global Energy & Utilities Leader for a major technology consulting firm. Over the course of his career has worked in over 16 countries, and now brings experiences from some of the largest utilities in North America, Europe and Asia to his Canadian clients
