Jim Forbes

Jim is a partner in the Valuations, Modelling & Disputes group, he is the leader of the Ontario Insurance Practice, as well as being PwC’s Global Metals Leader.
Jim has given testimony for both plaintiffs and defendants in personal and commercial matters. He has been accepted as an expert for the District Court and Superior Court of Ontario, Ontario General Division and Superior Court in the Province of Quebec. Jim has also been retained by government at various levels on business losses and valuations involving expropriation matters.
Recent transactions:
- Testified in a supplier dispute saving the client in excess of $300 million dollars.
- Assisted a client in preparation and negotiation of a business interruption claim for $450 million.
- Recently received an award from International Association of Arson Investigators for “Outstanding Service and Untiring Efforts in the conduct and furtherance of the purposes and objectives of the International Association of Arson Investigators.”
He has led engagements all over the world including the Americas, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, South Africa, Asia, China and Australia. Jim has written and contributed to numerous articles and has been quoted extensively around the world. He has given presentations in North America, South America, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, India, China and Australia.
