Khurram is a partner in PwC’s Calgary office with more than 15 years of experience focusing on clients in the energy and utilities sectors. He is the leader of the Oil Field Services group.
Khurram has experience in North America, the Middle East and Asia working with multinational companies reporting under Canadian GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS and regulatory matters like SOX compliance. Khurram has supported clients through complex transactions like initial public offerings, first time audits, the implementation of the new financial instruments standards and IFRS transition.
Khurram is part of the PwC Canada National IFRS Technical Committee and is involved in a number of IFRS transitions in the Calgary market.
Khurram joined the PwC Calgary office in 2004. Before coming to Calgary, he worked with PwC offices in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Islamabad, Pakistan. Khurram has been featured as a guest speaker at a variety of technical conferences including those sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), speaking primarily on IFRS-related technical matters. He is also a regular instructor at the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). He has been involved with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), supporting their members in responding to the new IFRS requirements.
