Mike is a Partner leading PwC Canada’s Risk Modelling and Actuarial Services practice.

Mike has 25 years of experience at PwC assisting insurers and reinsurers with actuarial valuation, financial reporting, risk assessment, M&A and capital requirements. His work spans many aspects of risk management including models and reporting; assurance and internal control; economic and regulatory capital; and process re-engineering.

He has a broad and deep understanding of industry practices. He is an Appointed Actuary and the actuarial audit specialist for many of PwC’s life insurance audit clients. Mike acts as the peer reviewer of actuarial liabilities, LICAT/LIMAT and FCT work for many insurers as well. He sits on PwC’s International Insurance Accounting Group and co-Chairs the CIA Appointed Actuary Committee.

Mike has been involved in IFRS 17 developments, assessments and implementation, as well as OSFI’s new regulatory capital changes. Mike has worked with small and large organizations within the Insurance industry including direct writers, reinsurers and other consultants giving him a holistic view and understanding of insurance business.
