Stephan is a Director for PwC Canada in the Intellectual Property Consulting Practice.

In this capacity, Stephan works closely with our clients to develop the right intellectual property strategy and management plan that supports their business growth strategy globally.

He’s focused on delivering measurable business results, using a unique and integrated approach to comprehensive client solutions - an approach that combines extensive and proven experience in intellectual property, strategy consulting, VCT, transfer pricing, deals, forensics and disputes.

Throughout his 35 + years of IP experience, Stephan has been involved in all aspects of the IP lifecycle, from IP asset identification, procurement, licensing and monetization. Stephan’s success as an IP strategist is due in part to his ability to understand the business goals of his clients and develop strategies that are tailored to their specific needs. He is a creative problem solver who can navigate complex legal and technical issues with ease.

Throughout his career, Stephan has worked with a wide range of innovative clients in North America and Europe, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, across a variety of industries including fintech, gaming, software, transportation, telecommunications, energy, and consumer goods. He has been involved in all aspects of IP law, especially Patents and Trade Secrets.

In recognition of his successes, he was awarded the IAM Patent 1000 award for Leading Patent Transactions Practitioner 2020-2022 and Leading Patent Prosecution practitioner in 2022. He’s also been recognized by Who’s Who Legal in the areas of IP and patents.

Stephan is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Licensing Executives Society. He is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of IP professionals, using his knowledge and expertise to mentor others.
