Ted is PwC’s National Leader for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) and Other Tax Incentives in the Tax Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Based in the Vancouver office, he also leads our British Columbia SR&ED and other Tax Incentives Practice. As a Professional Engineer, Ted, also leads our Climate Change Greenhouse Gas related Services team as a part of our Sustainability Practice.

As a former heavy industry and shop floor professional, Ted has worked with various clients to help them identify, document, prepare, and successfully defend their SR&ED claims for over eighteen years. He has extensive working knowledge of managing large, multiple facility claims, in a broad range of industries including pulp and paper and forestry, upstream and downstream oil and gas, pipelines, mining, agriculture, aquaculture, construction and engineering, cement, and various types of manufacturing. Ted has been working with the Other Tax Incentives Practice for 5 years.

Since 2008, Ted has assisted clients with the reporting and assurance aspects of greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting under various North American regulatory regimes. His experience in this space has included the technical and scientific aspects of GHG regulatory reporting systems and methodologies, and in carbon offsets including the project development, validation and verification aspects of carbon offset projects.

Prior to working in SR&ED, Ted spent 13 years working in various industries in numerous operational roles ranging from process engineering to senior manufacturing management in large resource-based manufacturing facilities.

Ted graduated with both a B.A.Sc. (Mechanical) and an M.Eng. (Chemical) from the University of British Columbia (UBC), in Vancouver. He also obtained an Executive MBA from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. Ted is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of British Columbia and leads our accredited GHGverification activities. Ted’s published works include “Tax, Climate Change, and Technology” published in CA Magazine in August 2010. 

Ted is an avid global traveller, having visited over 50 countries and is a car enthusiast. He currently lives in Vancouver with his wife and four children.
