Status of the file as of January 20, 2021

Update on Receivership Order:

On January 20, 2021, PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. was discharged in its capacity as Receiver of Coredent Partnership. Further, the Court approved the Receivers activities to date, the Receiver's accounts, and a distribution to the secured creditor ("Discharge Order"). Status of the file as of January 8, 2021

Update on Receivership Order:

On January 8, 2021, the Receiver filed its Sixth Report to update the Court of the Receiver’s activities subsequent to the Fifth Report and to seek a distribution of funds, approve the fees and disbursements of the Receiver and its legal counsel, and seek a discharge of PwC as the Receiver of Coredent Partnership. Status of the file as of October 6, 2020

Update on Interim Receivership Order:

On October 6, 2020, PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. was discharged in its capacity of Interim Receiver of the Professional Corporations. Further, the Court ordered the Professional Corporations bankrupt and BDO Canada Limited was appointed as the trustee. Accordingly, all matters related to the Professional Corporation should be directed to BDO Canada Limited.

Update on Interim Receivership Order:

On September 14, 2020, the Interim Receiver filed a Supplemental Report #2 to the Twelfth Report (“Twelfth Report Supplemental #2”) to update the Court on certain matters subsequent to the Twelfth Report and to notify the Court the Interim Receiver is not seeking a further extension of the Interim Receivership Order. On June 19, 2019, an order was granted by the Court:

On June 4, 2019, an order was granted by the Court with respect to the May 16, 2019 Decision which authorized the Interim Receiver to take active collection steps it deems advisable or necessary to enforce the Judgement against Dr. Seehra in the amount of $543,063.38 (“May 16, 2019 Order”). On May 3, 2019, the Receiver submitted a Supplemental Report #2 to the Third Report to seek approval on the settlement reached with JPD and proposed sale to Dr. Viet Tran. Status of the file as of April 25, 2019

Update on Interim Receivership Order:

On April 25, 2019, an order was granted by the Court ordering Amarjit Seehra to immediately provide the Interim Receiver with all documents in his possession or control, including banking statements, showing where and to whom certain funds were transferred to and where they currently reside (“Banking Records Order”). Further, an order on the same date was granted by the Court sealing the confidential appendix of the Interim Receiver’s Fifth Report (“Interim Receiver’s Fifth Report Sealing Order”). In addition, on April 25, 2019, the application in respect to civil contempt was adjourned to May 16, 2019.

Update on Interim Receivership Order:

On April 18, 2019, the Interim Receiver filed its Fifth Report to update the Court of the Interim Receiver’s activities subsequent to the Fourth Report. A copy of the Fifth Report can be accessed under the Interim Receiver tab of this website. The application will be heard on April 25, 2019.

Status of the file as of April 15, 2019

Update on Receivership Order:

On April 15, 2019, the Receiver submitted a Supplemental Report to the Third Report to provide additional details on the dismantle and removal of certain disputed assets. A copy of the Supplemental Report to the Third Report can be accessed under the Receiver’s Reports tab of this website.

Further, on April 15, 2019, orders were granted by the Court to approve the sale of undisputed assets (“Sale Approval and Vesting Order”) and to seal the Confidential Supplement to the Third Report (“Third Report Confidential Supplement Sealing Order”). Update on Interim Receivership Order:

On April 2, 2019, the Interim Receivership Order was extended to June 10, 2019 by the Court (“Fourth Extending Interim Receivership Order”). A copy of this order can be accessed under the Interim Receiver tab of this website.

Update on Receivership Order:

On April 2, 2019, issues raised in the application, including the sale approval and vesting order and the determination of rights to disputed assets, were adjourned to April 15, 2019 (“Adjournment Order”).

Update on Interim Receivership Order:

On March 29, 2019, an order was granted by the Court ordering Amarjit Seehra to return certain withdrawn funds and to submit responses to the Interim Receiver’s questions provided to his counsel previously by no later than April 8, 2019 (“Contempt and Norwich Order”).

Further, on March 29, 2019, an order was granted by the Court sealing the Confidential Appendices of the Fourth Report and Supplemental Report to the Fourth Report (“Interim Receiver’s Fourth Report Sealing Order”). On March 28, 2019, the Interim Receiver filed a Supplemental Report to the Interim Receiver’s Fourth Report to provide the Court with additional information for the application that will be heard on both March 29, 2019 and April 2, 2019. On March 25, 2019, the Interim Receiver filed its Fourth Report to update the Court of the Interim Receiver’s activities subsequent to the Third Report and to seek an extension of the Interim Receivership Order until May 8, 2019. Update on Receivership Order:

On February 20, 2019, an order was granted by the Court  sealing the Confidential Appendix of the Receivers First Report (“First Report Sealing Order”). A copy of this order can be accessed under the Court Orders tab of this website.

Further, on February 20, 2019, the Court granted an order directing Amarjit Seehra to provide the Receiver the location and any information requested about missing equipment and books and records (“Missing Equipment and Books and Records Order”). On January 7, 2019, the Interim Receiver filed its First Report to inform the Court of the Interim Receiver’s activities since its appointment and to seek an extension of the Interim Receivership Order until February 8, 2019. On December 21, 2018 PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. was appointed Interim Receiver of A.J. Seehra Professional Corporation, A.S. Lotey Professional Corporation, and Amarjit Seehra Professional Corporation (collectively, the “Professional Corporations”) by the Court of Queens Bench of Alberta (“Interim Receivership Order”).
