On March 15, 2024, the Superior Court of Quebec issued an order authorizing the continuation of the proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (the "CCAA"). The Debtors, as well as other related companies that have been added to the proceedings, are now under the protection of the CCAA. The Initial Order provides for an initial stay of all proceedings until March 25, 2024, and appoints PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. as Monitor of the business and financial affairs of the Debtors. Gestion Juste Pour Rire Inc., Juste Pour Rire Les Gags Inc., Les Productions Juste Pour Rire II Inc., Juste Pour Rire TV Inc., Distributions Juste Pour Rire Inc., Festival Zoofest and Festival Juste Pour Rire (the "Debtors") have each filed with the Official Receiver a “Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal” pursuant to Subsection 50.4(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act on the 5th day of March 2024.
Pursuant to Section 69 of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, all proceedings against the Debtors are stayed as of the date of filing the Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal with the Official Receiver.
