Jakarta - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Perseroda) agree to cooperate to conduct an initial exploration on utilising lands and managing assets in transit-oriented development (TOD) areas.

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director Tuhiyat said that the cooperation was a form of the realisation of the synergy between the Jakarta regional state-owned companies (BUMDs) to realise Jakarta that was more organised, active, and lively. It is also expected to strengthen the synergy of TOD areas and tourism development in Jakarta.

“In the future, we will explore a potential cooperation to utilise and optimise land assets and buildings owned by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Perseroda),” PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director Tuhiyat said in his official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (12/4/2023).

PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Perseroda) will also study to utilise the space to activate various activities and business potentials. It is believed to mutually benefit both parties, especially the people in Jakarta in their daily commute.

During the event, Tuhiyat also launched creative boxes filled with Jakarta-authentic souvenirs and a guidebook on culinary tourism around Jakarta MRT stations along the Lebak Bulus-Bundaran HI route. The creative boxes will later be provided at Jakarta MRT stations, which are expected to be an added value for Jakarta MRT passengers.

On the other hand, PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Persero) President Director Novita Dewi explained that the creative boxes were an effort to bring creative products from Jakarta closer, and they are also expected to facilitate the people and tourists in exploring the city.

“By accelerating tourism recovery and increasing the mobility of the people and tourists, today, we, as a BUMD that engages in the tourism and hotel sector, is participating in fulfilling the needs of tourists in exploring the city. The creative boxes are expected to facilitate the people and tourists to purchase souvenirs at MRT stations,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the agreement between MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Perseroda) has been stated in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) President Director Tuhiyat and PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Perseroda) President Director Novita Dewi. The signing was conducted at CSW TransJakarta Shelter in South Jakarta on Wednesday (12/4/2023). It was directly attended by Jakarta BUMD Develoment Agency Tourism Business Subgroup Chairperson Karel Martin Tambunan, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Business Development Director Farchad Mahfud, and PT Jakarta Tourisindo (Perseroda) Marketing and Business Development Director Nabil Jaidi.
