Jakarta - The Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry is targeting the organisation of Sumbu Kebangsaan stage 1 (Plaza Seremoni) in Central Government Core Area (KIPP) in Nusantara Capital City (IKN) to be completed in December 2023. Area Organisation Division Head of the Infrastructure Development Taskforce of the PUPR Ministry Didiet Arief said that, until the end of July 2023, the organisation progress of Sumbu Kebangsaan stage 1 (Plaza Seremoni) has reached 48.38%.

“The progress is faster than the plan that set to reach 46.8%. Hence, we are optimistic about the work being completed in accordance with the contract in December 2023,” Didiet said in his official statement in Jakarta on Friday (4/8/2023).

Philosophically, Sumbu Kebangsaan in KIPP in Nusantara is an open space that is a symbol of harmony among nature, people, and cultural values. Later, Sumbu Kebangsaan will connect the Presidential Palace to Mangrove Ecopark through a series of open spaces from Plaza Seremoni, Plaza Sipil/Bukit Bendera, Plaza Bhinneka, Science and Tech Park, Plaza Adi Budaya, Plaza Pertunjukan, and Plaza Demokrasi.

The organisation of Sumbu Kebangsaan stage 1 (Plaza Seremoni) has been carried out in stages using the design and build mechanism since December 2022. The construction is carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) and the construction management consultant PT Virama Karya (Persero) KSO PT Laras Sembada with a total contract value of Rp365.8 billion.

The organisation of Sumbu Kebangsaan stage 1 is divided into several zones with zone 1 that includes the northern part of the wetland and the Visitor Centre Building. Zone 2 consists of Ceremonial Lawn, Retail and Gallery Building, East Plaza, West Plaza, as well as the toilet and services building.

Next, zone 3 includes Central Promenade, Forest Walk, Forest Trail, Mini Amphitheatre, and the southern part of the wetland. Then, zones 4 and 5 include Shared Street.

“The work scope includes planning, land preparation, and landscaping in several zones. Then, there are also the construction of drains, roads, the visitor centre building, retail buildings, and toilets,” Didiet said.

Meanwhile, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono also mentioned that the houses prepared for state civil apparatus (ASN) in IKN were better than the ones in Java.

Minister Basuki explained that the houses would be owned by the ASN using the housing loan (KPR) scheme.

“KPR with an adequate scope and buildings that are better than the ones in Java in Jakarta as they are larger,” he said.

However, according to Basuki, the KPR financing scheme for the first ASNs in IKN is still being discussed with PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk so that the price will still be affordable.
