9 August 2024
Jakarta, ID – PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has secured two new contracts. The first is for the construction of stage 2 of package 9 of the infrastructure buildings in the Karawang area owned by Bank Indonesia. The second contract involves the rehabilitation of stage 2 of package 11 of roads in Maliana City, Timor Leste. The total value of these contracts is Rp484 billion.
The construction of stage 2 of package 9 of the infrastructure buildings in the Karawang area owned by Bank Indonesia has been officially handed over. A pre-construction meeting was held at Bank Indonesia Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (21/6), attended by Hutama Karya Building Division Executive Vice President (EVP) Nyoman Endi Mahendra.
Hutama Karya Corporate Secretary Adjib Al Hakim stated that the project was part of a series of construction projects for the money management centre. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of business processes and improve accountability in rupiah management in Indonesia.
“The project, valued at Rp166 billion, will be carried out over 240 calendar days starting from June. It is scheduled for completion by February 2025,” Adjib said in Jakarta on Thursday (8/8/2024).
For this project, Hutama Karya is focusing on several crucial aspects, including preparation, road access construction, utilities, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
The entire process is supported by the use of digital construction technologies. These include digital surveys with LiDAR, Building Information Modeling (BIM) for more efficient planning, designing, and construction, and Cubicost for accurate material quantity estimation. Additionally, rebar tying tools are being used to support an ergonomic tying process.
Focusing on projects overseas
Meanwhile, the contract for the other project, which involves the rehabilitation of roads in Maliana City, was signed separately by Hutama Karya General Civil Division EVP for 2019-2024 Ari Asmoko and Timor Leste Public Works Minister Samuel Marcal on Thursday (4/7).
Adjib added that Hutama Karya would rehabilitate the main roads in Maliana City, an economic centre in Bobonaro District and the third-largest city in Timor Leste. The project spans 18.8 kilometers and is valued at US$21,228,762.
“This project marks a significant milestone for Hutama Karya as a leader in the road infrastructure sector, marking its entry into international projects. The existing road conditions in Maliana City are poor, disrupting the supply of goods, services, and overall mobility. Therefore, improvements are necessary. We are confident in fulfilling the trust placed in us by the government of Timor Leste and meeting the project's targets,” Adjib added.
For this project, Hutama Karya will undertake several construction stages, including excavation, road preparation, foundation coating, paving, drainage installation, and sidewalk construction.
To ensure the project's completion by September 2025, Hutama Karya is developing acceleration strategies. This involves understanding the existing field conditions to create suitable and effective mitigation plans.
Additionally, the company is ensuring a sufficient supply of resources and materials to facilitate efficient progress. It is also coordinating closely with relevant parties to ensure the project's smooth execution. Furthermore, the company is providing intensive training to its workforce and subcontractors.
Adjib emphasised that Hutama Karya was committed to completing both projects with the highest quality and on schedule. The company is also focused on safety and working with all parties involved to protect the surrounding environment.
“These construction projects will not only enhance Hutama Karya's portfolio in supporting state finance management facilities, but they will also expand the company's international project reach,” Adjib added.
