Jakarta - Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that, until 2023, the PUPR Ministry has completed 99 national strategic projects (PSNs).
“Out of the 170 PSNs assigned to the PUPR Ministry, until 2023, we have completed 99 PSNs,” Basuki said in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/12/2023).
The PSNs that have been completed include 42 dam projects and 2,143 km of toll roads. “As many as 40 other PSNs will be completed in 2024. The rest will be completed after 2024,” Basuki said.
In accordance with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Regulation Number 21 of 2022, the PUPR Ministry is assigned to construct PSNs all over Indonesia.
The prioritised PSNs are infrastructure development projects that are expected to provide a multiplier effect on economic growth and public welfare.
The PUPR Ministry is continuously accelerating the completion of PSNs so that they can be completed in 2024.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has expressed his appreciation for the hard work and speed of the PUPR Ministry in constructing various infrastructure.
Infrastructure development has always been one of the main priorities of President Jokowi in his nine-year term. Infrastructure development is the foundation that will design economic growth in Indonesia.
Infrastructure development has been massively carried out since 2014 to bolster Indonesia’s competitiveness. In the IMD Global Competitiveness Index, Indonesia's infrastructure ranking has improved from 54 in 2014 to 51 presently.
