14 February 2023
Jakarta - Indonesia and Singapore are strengthening the cooperation between both counties, especially in the air and sea transportation sectors as well as in human resource development in the transportation sector.
“The bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Singapore has been established excellently. Both countries agree to maintain the mutually beneficial relationship and to open several cooperation opportunities in the transportation sector,” the Transportation Minister said in his official statement in Singapore earlier this week.
During the meeting, Transportation Minister Budi Karya and Mr. Iswaran witnessed the document signing between the Transportation Ministry and the Transportation Ministry of Singapore that followed up the flight information region (FIR) agreement between both countries in 2022.
“This is the mutual effort of both countries to improve safety, orderliness, and efficiency of airspace management in both countries. This step also shows the commitment of both counties to implementing the FIR agreement signed last year,” the Transportation Minister said.
During his visit to Singapore, the Transportation Minister also visited the logistics port in Singapore.
“We are looking for a reference of the latest design and technology to develop ports in Indonesia,” he said.
Regarding human resource development in the transportation sector, the Transportation Minister is boosting the implementation of field work practice programs at official schools under the Transportation Human Resource Development Agency.
