Jakarta - Salim Group’s issuer, PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk (META), is targeting business revenue in the toll road segment to grow 10.6% in the first half of this year compared to last year. This target is supported by the company’s step to reoperate Pondok Aren-Serpong toll road or BSD toll road approaching the second quarter of 2023.

“The toll road’s construction commenced on 11 March 2022, and it is predicted to operate in the second quarter of 2023,” Nusantara Infrastructure Head of Corporate Communications Indah D. P. Pertiwi said recently.

Indah mentioned that the company had spent Rp541 billion to repair road damages, especially at kilometre 8 from flooding and at kilometre 10 from weaving.

According to Indah, flooding at kilometre 8 was caused by runoff from Cibenda River that is located in the region. The high water volume could not be contained due to the heavy rainfall from upstream to downstream.

She said that the company increased the height of the area. They hope that the repairs can be the solution for toll road users amid the heavy rainfall.  Hence, toll road users will no longer be impacted by runoff from Cibenda River.

Seeing the progress in the field, Indah reported that the elevation activity towards Jakarta would be completed in February 2023 to be used by road users. The next elevation activity would target the road towards BSD/Serpong that is estimated to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.

Even though BSD toll road is predicted to operate during Eid, Indah predicts that traffic will decline. Most toll road users are predicted to travel through Trans-Java toll road and Trans-Sumatra toll road.

“We predict that this will affect traffic during Eid holiday,” Indah concluded.
