Investor Daily - Lokasi dermaga wisata di IKN sudah ditetapkan

23 January 2023

Jakarta - The government has determined the location for the construction of the tourism pier in New Capital City (IKN) Nusantara in Kalimantan. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi has visited the tourism pier location on Friday (20/1/2023).

“Today, we visited port and pier locations, such as the tourism pier in Labuan Bajo. There are three alternative locations, but we have determined the location to be in Punggur that is located 9 km from IKN,” the Transportation Minister said in his official statement during his work visit to IKN.

The work visit is part of the Transportation Ministry’s effort to plan the construction and development of transportation facilities and infrastructure in IKN, which is one of the priority programs in 2023. Several transportation infrastructures that will be built in IKN include the tourism pier, a VVIP airport, and eco-friendly transportations.

The Transportation Minister added that the short distance and travel time between Punggur and Balikpapan would improve accessibility in both regions.

“Moreover, the location also has beautiful sea view. The pier will be fitted with facilities for tourism ships, a culinary area, and other facilities that attract tourists,” he stated.

Besides visiting the tourism pier location, the Transportation Minister also visited the VVIP airport location that will be used to serve state guests.

“We had an overhead view by using a helicopter at several locations that are the alternative locations of the VVIP airport that will also be the airbase of TNI AU (Indonesian National Armed Forces Air Force),” he said.

The Transportation Minister explained that he was currently coordinating with TNI AU, the Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry, and other related parties to determine one location from the several alternative locations proposed.

“We have determined the location of the tourism pier. Next, for the airport, we are still gathering data. Hopefully, we can determine the location soon,” the Transportation Minister said.

Meanwhile, the PUPR Ministry stated that 29 out of 34 construction packages in IKN Nusantara had been contracted. The PUPR Ministry also ensured that the construction of IKN Nusantara prioritised the use of domestic products.

“29 construction packages have been contracted,” IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force Chairperson of the PUPR Ministry Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga said recently.

Danis added that IKN construction packages that have been contracted include the Presidential Office, Coordinating Ministry buildings, the State Secretariat Building, and the wastewater treatment installation. Meanwhile, the value of IKN construction packages that have been contracted reaches Rp25 trillion. Previously, the PUPR Ministry had prepared a plan to construct basic infrastructures in IKN Nusantara from 2022 to 2024 with a budget of Rp43.73 trillion.

In carrying out the works, the PUPR Ministry reminds commitment officials and service providers to be professional, quick, hardworking, productive, actively looking for solutions for issues in the field, and oriented toward real results. Carrying out the works does not only guarantee completion, but it also guarantees excellently functioning infrastructures.
