 26 January 2023

Jakarta - PT Wijaya Karya Bangunan Gedung Tbk (WEGE) obtains another new contract in New Capital City (IKN) Nusantara. This time, the company will work on Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment building and office area construction project worth Rp745 billion.

Wika Gedung President Director Hadian Pramudita said that Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment’s office building had eight floors, and it is built by implementing the integrated smart and green building construction concept. Another advantage of the coordinating ministry’s office building construction is the use of the building information modelling (BIM) construction technology.

“Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and Investment’s building is located on top of 24,274 square metres of land in Sepaku District, North Panajam Paser, which is not far from the Presidential Office in IKN. Moreover, the work scope includes the construction design, and the construction will take 660 business days,” Hadian said in his official statement on Wednesday (25/1).

Before obtaining the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment project, Wika Gedung had previously secured the modular IKN construction worker housing project. The construction progress has reached 94%.

Besides working on IKN projects, the subsidiary of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) was recently appointed by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BKMG) to work on the centre of excellence building in the School of Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics of Indonesia (STMKG) on Jl. Meteorologi No. 5, Tanah Tinggi, Tangerang City, Banten.

BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati wants the building constructed by Wika Gedung to be truly excellent, which means it has to be a green and smart building. “With a green building, BMKG will contribute to controlling CO2,” she said.

The modern campus is set to be completed in 350 calendar days or at the end of 2023. The company will build BMKG’s official school by using the building information modelling method at level 5D to support the acceleration, construction accuracy, safety, and security factors.

In the project, Wika Gedung will conduct the planning, preparation, structural work, architectural work, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work, and landscaping.

The building that will be one of STMKG’s facilities will reach 39 metres in height and consist of 8 floors with 1 basement floor, and it will be 31,540 square metres in size.

Besides the campus building, there will be centre of excellence that is set to be a green building on the main level.

This project is one of BMKG’s megaprojects to prepare experts who will support and sustain BMKG’s task to provide meteorology, climatology, geophysics, and air quality information to the people.
