Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded that there were 388,942 vehicles exiting Jabotabek on D-2 (27/6/2023) and D-1 (28/6/2023) of Eid al-Adha. The total volume of traffic exiting Jabotabek increased by 50% from the normal traffic volume.

“That number is accumulated from four toll gates, namely Cikupa Toll Gate (towards Merak), Ciawi Toll Gate (towards Puncak), Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (Towards Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate (towards Bandung),” Jasa Marga Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said in her official statement in Jakarta on Thursday (29/6/2023).

Regarding distribution, Lisye said that the traffic exiting Jabotabek headed towards three directions with 206,511 vehicles (53.10%) headed towards the east (Trans Java and Bandung), 103,834 vehicles (26.70%) headed towards the west (Merak), and 78,597 vehicles (20.21%) headed towards the south (Puncak).

According to Lisye, her company is continuously ensuring that Jasa Marga Group’s toll roads will operate optimally during the long holiday of Eid al-Adha.

“The main concern are toll roads that have the potential to be favourite tourism destinations of road users during the long holiday, such as Jagorawi toll road to go to Puncak and its surroundings and Jakarta-Cikampek toll road and Cipularang toll road to go to Trans Java and Bandung,” she stated.

On the other hand, Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division Senior General Manager Truly Nawangsasi said that, in Sumatra on 27 June 2023, there were 12,021 vehicles exiting Medan through Tebing Tinggi Toll Gate, which increased by 41.9% from the normal traffic volume that reached 8,471 vehicles.

“Meanwhile, there were 10,898 vehicles heading to Medan through Tebing Tinggi Toll Gate, which increased by 42.7% from the normal traffic volume that reached 7,637 vehicles,” Truly said.

Vehicles exiting Medan through Amplas Toll Gate reached 21,759, which increased by 18.4% from the normal traffic volume that reached 18,383 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Medan through Amplas Toll Gate reached 19,870 vehicles, which increased by 15.1% from the normal traffic volume that reached 17,263 vehicles.

Moreover, on Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai-Benoa toll segment in Bali, traffic that went through Nusa Dua Toll Gate reached 16,242 vehicles, which increased by 25.8% from the normal traffic volume that reached 12,913 vehicles. As many as 9,191 vehicles went through Ngurah Rai Toll Gate, which increased by 52.4% from the normal traffic volume that reached 6,030 vehicles. Benoa Toll Gate was used by 18,216 vehicles, which increased by 45.4% from the normal traffic volume that reached 12,525 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) and the Land Transportation Directorate General of the Transportation Ministry have agreed on Joint Decision Number KP-DRJD 4583 of 2023, SKB/89/VI/2023 on Traffic Control during Long Holiday Period of Eid al-Adha in 2023. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is one of the toll road business entities that is ready to support the implementation of the traffic engineering by preparing the required officers and signs.

Korlantas Polri Law Enforcement Director Brigadier General Aan Suhanan explained that the regulation that limits goods transportation would be implemented on toll road segments and non-toll road segments on Tuesday (27/6/2023), Wednesday (28/6/2023), and Sunday (2/7/2023). The toll segments where the regulation will be implemented are Jakarta-CIkampek toll road, Cipularang toll road, Padaleunyi toll road, and Cikampek-Palimanan toll road.

“Meanwhile, on non-toll road segments, the regulation will be implemented in Jakarta, Bekasi, Cikampek, Pamanukan, Cirebon, and several areas in West Java such as Cikampek, Purwakarta, Cikalong, padalarang, and Cileunyi,” Aan said.

Land Transportation Director General of the Transportation Ministry Hendro Sugiatno explained that heavy equipment affected by the regulation were vehicles heavier than 14,000 kg, vehicles with three or more axles, vehicles with goods in tow, vehicles carrying dirt, sand, and stones, vehicles carrying mining materials, and vehicles carrying building materials.

Furthermore, Jasa Marga Operations Director Fitri Wiyanti said that her company was ready to support various traffic regulations by preparing supporting officers and signs. Jasa Marga is also preparing several efforts to improve their services on toll roads, toll gates, and rest areas by adding more facilities, infrastructures, operational fleet, field officers, and technologies to optimise their services for road users.

93% of train tickets sold out

On the other hand, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI confirmed that, out of all of the long-distance train tickets available, 754,450 tickets were sold. Based on the observation made on Wednesday (28/6/2023), KAI recorded that the number of long-distance train tickets sold during the Eid al-Adha long weekend period from Tuesday (27/6/2023) to Sunday (2/7/2023) reached 707,431 tickets or an average of 117,238 tickets per day.

“We also recorded that there was a surge in the number of customers during the Eid al-Adha long weekend period. On Tuesday (27//6/2023), long-distance train passengers reached 159,838 people. It increased by 66% from the previous Tuesday (20 June 2023) that reached 96,416 customers,” KAI Public Relations VP Joni Martinus stated in Jakarta this week.

The favourite routes of the people during the long weekend period are Jakarta-Bandung (round trip), Jakarta-Purwokerto (round trip), Jakarta-Surabaya (round trip), Medan-Tanjungbalai (round trip), Yogyakarta-Banyuwangi (round trip), Bandung-Surabaya (round trip), and other routes.

3.62 million aircraft passengers

Meanwhile, the airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura/AP II (Persero) are ready to serve 3.62 million aircraft passengers during the Eid al-Adha long weekend period and the school holiday period. AP II sets the peak season for the Eid al-Adha holiday and the school holiday to commence from 22 June to 6 July 2023 (D-7 to D+7 of Eid al-Adha).

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that the number of passengers from 22 to 26 June 2023 reached 1.30 million people, which increased by 7% from the previous period from 15 to 19 June 2023.

“The number of passengers at AP II airports from D-7 to D+7 of Eid al-Adha is predicted to increase by 7%-10% compared to regular days,” Awaluddin said.

Awaluddin said that the number of departures peaked on 27 and 28 June 2023. At the peak on 27 June, the number of passengers were predicted to reach around 255,000 people. On 28 June, it was predicted to reach 256,000 people.
