Investor Daily - Progres proyek Stasiun Halim hampir 90%

24 March 2023

Jakarta - The construction progress of Halim Station in East Jakarta is almost at 90%. Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi with Acting Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono visited the station construction project that will be integrated with various urban and intercity mass transportations on Thursday (23/3/2023).

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), the construction progress is almost at 90%. We have to make sure that the safety aspect is met and that it can provide the best service, so the people can access the station easily,” the Transportation Minister said in his official statement on Thursday (23/3/2023).

The Transportation Minister explained that Halim Station is located at a very strategic location as it is the meeting point of several mass transportations. The mass transportations are Jabodebek LRT, Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, JR Connexion (Blok M-Jababeka route), Transjakarta route K10 (PGC-Tj. Priok) and route 7P (BKN-Pondok Bambu), angkot (public minivan) routes M19 (Cililitan-Kranji) and Jak 84 (Kampung Melayu-Kapin Raya via Kalimalang), taxis, and other modes of transportation.

Halim Station completion and Jabodebek LRT project that is set to be completed in the middle of this year are expected to increase the people’s interest in using mass transportation.

“Our relatives from Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, and its surroundings are expected to no longer use private cars to reduce traffic jams in Jakarta,” the Transportation Minister said.

Furthermore, the Transportation Minister appreciates the role of the regional government, which is Jakarta Provincial Government, that intensively supports the realisation of mass transportation integration at Halim Station. “Coordination among PT KCIC, Jabodebek LRT, Jakarta Provincial Government, and other related parties is crucial to be continuously established. It is impossible for mass transportation to run well without support from regional governments and intensive coordination among stakeholders,” the Transportation Minister said.

During the occasion, Acting Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono stated that his agency is committed to supporting the realisation of mass transportation integration at Halim Station. He revealed that he has held disseminations through the East Jakarta Mayor regarding land acquisitions.

“The completion of the station’s construction is expected to reduce private vehicles entering Jakarta, which can reduce traffic jams in Jakarta,” Heru said.

Jabodebek LRT is built to reduce the vehicle volume entering Jakarta from satellite cities. The mass transportation is expected to minimise traffic jams on Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) and Jagorawi toll roads. Jabodebek LRT has a capacity of 740 passengers with a headway of around 3 minutes to 6 minutes.

The LRT that has tracks spanning 44.4 km will go through 18 stations. The stations are Dukuh Atas, Setiabudi, Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Pancoran, Cikoko, Ciliwung, Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, Harjamukti, Halim, Jatibening Baru, Cikunir I, Cikunir II, Bekasi Barat, and Jati Mulya.
