Investor Daily - PUPR susun rancangan keberlanjutan program infrastruktur 2025

Jakarta, ID – The Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry is preparing a sustainability plan for infrastructure programmes in 2025 through a regional consultation meeting.

PUPR Ministry Secretary General Mohammad Zainal Fatah said that, to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, the PUPR Ministry must accomplish several long-term infrastructure objectives.

These objectives encompass achieving a water capacity of 200 m3 per capita per year, an average travel time of 1.25 hours per 100 km, ensuring secure sanitation access for 70% of households, processing 90% of waste at waste treatment plants, providing access to drinking water for 100% of households, and ensuring that 100% of households have access to decent, affordable, and sustainable residential access.

“When planning and programming infrastructure projects for 2025, three key aspects must be prioritised as the programmes for 2025 will build upon previous initiatives,” Zainal said in his press release quoted on Friday (15/3/2024).

He said that 2025 was the initial year for the 2025-2029 medium-term development plan period. So, the target can be achieved if the central government and regional governments work hard, collaborate, and synergise in developing infrastructure.

“Hence, I hope the central government and regional governments will collaborate to achieve the national infrastructure development target that will be set in the 2045 RPJPN, the 2025-2029 RPJMN, and the strategic plan of the PUPR Ministry for the next five years,” Secretary General Zainal Fatah added.

Meanwhile, infrastructure programmes and projects slated for construction in 2025 must ensure adherence to the readiness criteria established this year.

“For example, support for new autonomous regions in Papua, the development of Nusantara Capital City and its surroundings, and the construction of dams, roads, settlement infrastructure, and housing,” he added.

Regional Infrastructure Development Agency (BPIW) Head Yudha Mediawan added that his agency would coordinate with the National Development Planning Ministry/National Development Planning Agency and other related ministries/institutions to deliberate on priority and supporting infrastructure from the PUPR Ministry for Fiscal Year 2025.

The outcome of the Regional Development Coordination Meeting has endorsed 15 major infrastructure project designs proposed by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. These projects are regional and sectoral in nature, covering 173 priority areas across 38 provinces.
