Jakarta - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) stated that they have operated 596 kilometres of Trans-Sumatra toll road out of the total first stage target that reaches 957 kilometres.

Hutama Karya (HK) Operations Director III Koentjoro said that the construction of Trans-Sumatra toll road (JTTS) has progressed significantly.

“Out of JTTS construction stage 1 that reaches around 957 km, 596 km have operated. During last Eid, four new segments operated on a functional basis to facilitate the people’s connectivity. More than three million vehicles were recorded on JTTS,” he said in his official statement on Tuesday (16/5).

He also reported the construction progress of Padang-Pekanbaru toll road, which is a corridor that connects the JTTS network.

According to him, the construction of the toll road that is divided into six sections will connect the connectivity between West Sumatra and Riau that spans 254 kilometres (km).

Koentjoro affirmed that the construction progress was related to the government’s support in the form of state equity participation (PMN) that has been provided in stages since 2015. “From the six sections, Hutama Karya has operated the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section in September 2022, which was inaugurated by President Jokowi in January 2023,” Koentjoro said.

He also explained that Bangkinang-Koto Kampar toll road and Padang-Sicincin section were being pursued to be completed on target.

Currently, the construction progress of Bangkinang-Koto Kambar toll road that spans 24.7 km has reached 75.13%, while the land procurement progress has reached 90.72%.

The land procurement progress of Padang-Sicincin section that spans 36.6 km has reached 85.82%, while the construction progress has reached 36.57%.

Three other Padang-Pekanbaru toll road sections, namely Sicincin-Bukittinggi, Bukittinggi-Payakumbuh, and Payakumboh-Koto Kambar, will be part of the construction in stage 4 of JTTS construction.

Later, Bangkinang-Koto Kambar toll road will be fitted with several structural facilities as the speed is planned to reach 80 km/hour.
