4 May 2023

Jakarta - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) logged sales of Rp4.35 trillion in the first quarter of 2023, which increased by 37.4% compared to last year. The growth is contributed by sales in the infrastructure and building segments, which include industrial, EPCC, and property sales.

According to WIKA Corporate Secretary Mahendra Vijaya, sales increased thanks to the company’s success in securing new contracts in the previous year. Besides that, process digitalisation also boosts the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.

“The increase in the realisation of new contracts is a capital for the company to increase their production at the start of this year,” Mahendra explained in his official statement on Wednesday (3/5/2023).

Mahendra also announced that WIKA has been entrusted by the PUPR Mnistry to work on an arterial (Madukoro) flyover in Central Java worth Rp180.91 billion.

The state-owned construction issuer plans to work on the flyover for 360 days with completion set in April 2024. According to Mahendra, the purpose of the construction of Madukoro Flyover was to increase the capacity of the arterial interchange due to the high traffic on Semarang North Arterial Road.

It is also prompted by the development of the new terminal in Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang that is part of Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan National Tourism Strategic Area.

Meanwhile, WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito added that the trust in WIKA to work on Madukoro Flyover was thanks to the company’s track record in the flyover construction sector. Moreover, in Central Java, the company constructed Purwosari Flyover, which is a new icon in Surakarta.

“In Madukoro Flyover project, Wijaya Karya is committed to complete it according to plan and to meet the quality and the schedule so that it can be beneficial for the people in Central Java,” Agung said.
