Investor Daily - IIF gandeng EDC perkuat pembiayaan infrastruktur

7 October 2023

Jakarta - PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) and Export Development Canada (EDC) officially entered a collaboration to support infrastructure financing. Through the cooperation outlined in a memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two institutions are ready to explore new opportunities in the form of potential financing and consulting services for Canadian companies that have business operations in Indonesia.

“It is an honour for us to be the first financial institution in Indonesia to establish a cooperation relationship with EDC and to mark their first MoU since their recent presence in Indonesia,” said IIF President Director Reynaldi Hermansjah in his official statement in Jakarta on Friday (06 /10/2023).

Reynaldi also emphasised that this collaboration could be a foundation for both parties in capturing business potential.

“We believe that, through this cooperation and collaboration, we can capture investment opportunities to develop sustainable projects, innovation, and development in the renewable energy sector,” he explained.

Similar to IIF, EDC sees promising opportunities through this collaboration that can benefit Canada and Indonesia.

“Collaborating with IIF allows us to do more and work faster for Canadian exporters and corporate investors in the infrastructure sector while supporting Indonesia’s needs,” said EDC Senior Vice President Corporate and International Group Sven List.

“IIF has reliable knowledge and expertise in financing infrastructure projects, including renewable energy projects. By adopting ESG principles and utilising the capabilities of EDC and IIF, we will contribute to sustainable infrastructure development in Indonesia,” added Sven List.

EDC is a financial institution that is mandated to support Canadian companies in export trade transactions in international markets, especially Indonesia, and to provide financing and risk mitigation services for Canadian companies involved in export trade. Meanwhile, IIF is a private non-bank financial institution that is engaged in infrastructure financing and consulting services, managed professionally, and focused on commercially viable infrastructure projects.
