Jakarta - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk or WIKA is continuously accelerating the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) project, which includes the construction of segment 3B (KKT Kariangau – SP. Tempadung) of IKN toll road. WIKA, which is involved in a joint operation (KSO) with PP-JAKON, is ready to complete the freeway construction project that is worth Rp1.91 trillion.

“The project is a part of Balikpapan-IKN toll road that is constructed to improve connectivity and provide access to the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) in the capital city spanning 7.3 km,” WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said in his official statement on Thursday (12/10/2023).

The project that is worked on by WIKA KSO that commenced in 2022 and involved 456 workers has progressed significantly to reach 37% overall. With the progress, WIKA is currently working on the concrete structure stage on the top subgrade section and Balang Island Bridge that is set to reach 75% at the end of 2023.

In the toll road construction process, WIKA is participating as the contractor that pioneered the use of 5D BIM. It is the construction planning and project management level that allows the collaboration of geometric data, cost processing results, quantity, and project schedule.

“Moreover, WIKA is also implementing the augmented reality (AR) technology to produce better visualisation and minimise errors,” he said.

Agung also said that the use of construction technologies in the IKN project reflected the advancement and the competence of WIKA’s human resources in the construction environment.

“The breakthrough will make construction more comprehensive, provide a deeper analysis, and [realise] a more efficient project management,” Agung said.
