Jakarta - The integration of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway (KCJB) with feeder trains will connect Halim Station, Padalarang Station, and Bandung Station, so travel time will be less than 50 minutes. The high-speed railway will be integrated with feeder trains at Padalarang Station to facilitate high-speed railway passengers going to Cimahi Station or Bandung Station.

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said that various preparations and improvements have been carried out in terms of the high-speed railway’s intermodal accessibility and integration.

“Padalarang High-speed Railway Station and Padalarang Station will be connected, so passengers will find it easier to change modes of transportation. The provision of feeder trains is a result of the collaboration with KAI (PT Kereta Api Indonesia) that will improve connectivity, seamless transportation services, and high-speed railway passenger comfort,” Eva said in her official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (5/9/2023).

At Padalarang Station, Eva said that there would be feeder trains that will stop at Cimahi Station and Bandung Station. Trips from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station will take around 20 minutes. Moreover, the high-speed railway’s travel time from Halim to Padalarang will only take 30 minutes. Meanwhile, travel time from Halim High-speed Railway Station to Bandung Station will take 50 minutes.

“For people who want to go to Bandung City, they can use the feeder train that is scheduled in accordance with the high-speed railway. They only need to get off at Padalarang High-speed Railway Station and use the feeder train. Passengers can go to Bandung Station and Cimahi Station,” Eva explained.

Besides feeder trains, people can also use Commuterline Bandung Raya, Trans Metro Pasundan Alun-alun – KBP, Damri Alun-Alun Bandung – Situ Ciburuy (via Cimahi), Damri Padalarang Station – Lembang that was proposed by KBB, and Angkot Padalarang – Rajamandala, Padalarang – Cimahi- Leuwipanjang, and Padalarang – Cimahi.

“Intermodal integration can be realised thanks to the support from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Transportation Ministry, the State-owned Enterprises (SOE) Ministry, regional governments, and public transportation operators. The collaboration is expected to make high-speed railway stations more accessible and reachable by the people,” she stated.

Previously, besides testing Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway that has been deemed ready to operate, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi ensured that feeder transportation options could support the operation of the mass transportation.

The Transportation Minister tried the feeder train the connects Padalarang Station to Bandung Station. The Transportation Minister wants to ensure that the integration between the high-speed railway and other modes of transportation will provide people ease of access.

According to the Transportation Minister, several developments are being carried out to optimise the feeder trains. Overall, there will be skybridges at Padalarang Station, Cimahi Station, and Bandung Station. Moreover, there will also be flyovers at Ciroyom Station and Pusdikpom Station.

“Everything is set to be completed in 2023,” the Transportation Minister said.

Furthermore, the high-speed railway is set to operate on 1 October 2023. The operation will be carried out in stages from eight trips in October. Then, the trips will increase to 28 in November, 40 in December, and 68 in January 2024.

Kualanamu Airport Train

On the other hand, PT Railink (KAI Bandara) is expanding its service scope in Medan Metropolitan Area (mebidangro). From 1 September 2023, PT Railink has been testing out a new operation pattern for Kualanamu Airport Train that adds two more stops at Batangkuis Station and Araskabu Station.

“The addition of the two new stations is based on the people’s increasing enthusiasm in North Sumatra for public transportation,” PT Railink (KAI Bandara) Finance and Administration Director Indah Suryandari revealed in her official statement yesterday.

With the addition of the two new stations, Kualanamu Airport Train currently serves five stations, namely Medan, Bandar Khalipah, Batangkuis, Araskabu, and Kualanamu International Airport. Batangkuis Station and Araskabu Station were constructed after Bandar Khalipah Station that has been serving the airport train since 2022.

Besides that, to welcome KAI Bandara’s 17th anniversary at the end of September, PT Railink will cut ticket prices to start from Rp5,000.

“With the promo price and the ease to purchase tickets, we hope that we can answer the enthusiasm of the people in North Sumatra for public transportation with KAI Bandara’s signature services,” Indah stated.
