Investor Daily - Kemenhub tawarkan 2 proyek terminal tipe A

27 September 2023

Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry is offering two important landmark projects in the land transportation sector, namely Purabaya Type A Terminal in Sidoarjo in East Java and Betan Subing Type A Terminal in Lampung. The offer of the projects is in line with the effort to accelerate transportation infrastructure development using the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.

“The terminals are not merely transportation nodes, but they are also the heart of regional connectivity that have served passengers for years. However, to stay relevant in this dynamically changing era, we need modernisation, greater development that needs to be updated, and more adequate facilities,” Land Transportation Directorate General Secretary Amirulloh said when he read the opening speech of the Land Transportation Director General at a market sounding in Jakarta on Tuesday (26/9/2023).

Purabaya Type A Terminal is the busiest terminal in Indonesia that accommodates 28 thousand people per day. It is located at a strategic location, and it is integrated with a station, a Trans-Jatim shelter, and the airport. Meanwhile, Betan Subing Terminal is a terminal in Central Lampung that is located in the middle of the city near Trans-Sumatra toll road.

Furthermore, in accordance with the vision and the mission of President Joko Widodo, the Land Transportation Directorate General is inviting the private sector to participate in the provision of transportation infrastructure, especially terminals. Currently, terminals are not only transportation nodes, but they are also an infrastructure that implements the mixed-use concept that can improve the economy of the region and the people.

Hence, Amirulloh said that business entities played a crucial role in realising the vision of accelerating infrastructure development, especially Purabaya Type A Terminal and Betan Subing Type A Terminal.

“These PPP projects are a commitment from the government to advancing land transportation infrastructure. Terminal construction will not only fulfil the transportation needs of the people, but it will also be a model for sustainability and efficiency. Hence, we are inviting all parties to be actively involved in the process,” Amirulloh said.
