The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Essentials for Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) upskilling course is designed in partnership with Enterprise Singapore to help local SMEs kickstart their ESG journey. With the support of PwC’s Asia Pacific Centre for Sustainability Excellence (APAC CSE), the course will provide SME leaders and senior management with a fundamental understanding and practical tools needed to incorporate ESG principles into their businesses and drive their ESG agenda.
This course is also a part of the Enterprise Sustainability Programme (ESP) by Enterprise Singapore, to support Singapore businesses on sustainability initiatives, and to capture new opportunities in the green economy. Learn more about the subsidies, eligibility and process below.
Directors may attend this prescribed course to fulfil the new Singapore Exchange (SGX) requirements with regard to directors’ training on sustainability.

Subsidy Eligibility Conditions
1 Business entities registered and operating in Singapore. This excludes: (a) non-profit organisations and charities (registered as public companies limited by guarantee); and (b) foreign companies operating in Singapore (registered as branch or representative offices).
2 TACs will need to fulfil the following criteria: a) registered with Registry of Societies (ROS) or Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA); and b) defined as a non-profit organisation.
3 There are currently three types of ESP Sustainability Courses: Foundational, Decarbonisation, and Sustainable Financing. Please refer to the ESP website for the list of courses under each course type.

The Enterprise Sustainability Programme (ESP) supports Singapore businesses on sustainability initiatives and to capture new opportunities in the green economy. As part of the ESP, Enterprise Singapore partnered Global Compact Network Singapore, PwC Singapore and Singapore Environment Council to launch the first series of Enterprise Sustainability Programme - Sustainability Courses.
These courses aim to build awareness and knowledge of sustainability amongst local business leaders and enable participants to access tools and resources to help them assess their current sustainability readiness and performance. It serves as a foundation to help local enterprise build capabilities for the green economy and develop a clear plan for sustainability efforts.
