Here at PwC it's all about opportunity. If you want to achieve something in your life, you have to plan and perform, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Opportunities don't happen, it's something that you need to create.
Let's meet Nick from TLS. He is an 'original product' of PwC Indonesia. Joining PwC soon after graduating in 2008, he now has 15 years of working experience at PwC and now he is Director in TLS, especially in TLS CIPS TMT. Curious what makes him stay at PwC? Interested in tips to grow further?
In 15 years of his working experience in PwC, he got a lot of opportunities that developed his professional and personal development. As an original product of PwC, he got a chance to have a secondment program to the US.
His biggest achievement for having the trust of the firm and being promoted as Director in October 2023. "This is one of the continuous actualizations of PwC's commitment to invest and help their people to grow. I do admit that all achievements come from the combination of personal efforts and other's support, and both are equally important," said Nick.
Though he is a reliable leader for his team, he also faced challenges. Back then, 3 - 4 years ago, his partner called him and he was informed that he got a complaint from a client. He was a bit down as he already put his best efforts but it seems it was just simply not enough. After discussion, his Partner suggested that he should be able to open himself, his mind clearly thinking about what went well, what went well and how to do things differently. For Nick, this challenge is not something that needs to be ashamed for but rather an experience that can be shared. That in PwC, this is a place to learn and grow.
It's "Better, smarter, achievable planning and commitment to take action." Small steps are totally ok, better than over-targeting and ending up with nothing!
